The 2026-2027 EuroLeague season is set to begin on 24 September 2026, featuring 20 teams, according to decisions approved at a meeting of the Euroleague Commercial Assets Board of Directors in Barcelona. The schedule and team lineup will be submitted for final approval to the ECA General Assembly on 7 July 2026.
Turkey will be represented by three clubs: Fenerbahçe, Anadolu Efes, and Beşiktaş. Beşiktaş received a one-year special invitation to participate in the upcoming season, a decision approved by the Board of Directors on 26 June 2026 in Barcelona. Paris Basketball also received a similar one-year special invitation.
The number of teams confirmed for the 2026-2027 EuroLeague season
The league reaffirmed its goal to expand to 24 teams from the 2027-2028 season. As part of long-term structural changes, Real Madrid's 10-year EuroLeague license extension was approved, and the conversion of existing long-term club licenses to a franchise system is expected to be completed within the 2026-2027 season. The official evaluation process for new franchise rights begins on 1 July 2026.
Euroleague Basketball CEO Chus Bueno stated that the organization's market value has reached €1.4 billion, aiming for a €4 billion valuation within three to four years. Revenues have increased by more than 12% compared to the 2024-2025 season, and economic distributions to clubs in the 2026-2027 season are projected to increase by at least 10%.

A new SuperCup tournament is planned for 18-19 September 2026. Additionally, the 2026-2027 BKT EuroCup season will start on 29 September, featuring four groups of eight teams each. The EuroCup playoffs will be best-of-three series for all rounds: Last 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.
