Fenerbahçe arsaVev defeated Metalist Kharkiv 2-1 in the UEFA Women's Champions League second qualifying round semi-final to advance to the final. The single-match elimination semi-final was played at Den Dreef Stadium in Belgium.
Viktoriya Hiryn scored in the 15th minute to give Metalist Kharkiv the lead. Fenerbahçe arsaVev equalized in the 42nd minute through Ece Türkoğlu, leaving the score 1-1 at halftime. Maria Alve scored the winning goal in the 67th minute to secure the victory.
Path to the third qualifying round
The final match of the second qualifying round is scheduled for August 8. Fenerbahçe arsaVev's opponent will be determined by the match between OH Leuven and ZFK TSC Backa Topola.
A win in the final would advance Fenerbahçe arsaVev to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Champions League. If they lose the final, the team will continue their European campaign in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Women's European Cup.
