Fenerbahçe is expected to initiate official negotiations for AC Milan winger Rafael Leao. Representatives of the Turkish club are scheduled to travel to Milan to discuss transfer terms for the player, who currently plays for the Italian Serie A side.
AC Milan demands a fee of at least €50 million, including bonuses, for the transfer. The club may also consider a loan deal structured with a mandatory purchase option. Leao’s current market value is estimated at €50 million.
The pace of Fenerbahçe’s negotiations will accelerate once the club’s status in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers becomes clear. If conditions are deemed favorable, Fenerbahçe plans to submit an official offer to AC Milan. Sources indicate that the Turkish club possesses the financial capacity to meet the demanded transfer fee.
Rival Interest from Galatasaray
Galatasaray is also competing to sign Leao. The club holds an advantage in the transfer race due to its confirmed participation in the UEFA Champions League. However, Galatasaray is reported to be more cautious regarding the transfer fee compared to Fenerbahçe.
Leao primarily operates as a left winger. He has played 291 official matches for AC Milan, recording 80 goals and 55 assists. Reports conflict regarding his age, with sources citing him as either 26 or 27 years old. His contract with AC Milan is stated to run until June 30, 2028.
Despite the ongoing discussions, no official statements have been issued by AC Milan, Fenerbahçe, or Galatasaray regarding the transfer rumors.
