The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models could see a price increase of between $250 and $300 compared to their predecessors, according to GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu. The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to launch in the fall of 2026.
Jeff Pu attributes the potential price hike to high prices in RAM and memory chips, as well as higher production costs for 2 nm-based processors. Specifically, the use of TSMC's 2nm manufacturing process for the iPhone 18 Pro's A20-series chip is considered a factor in the increase.
Costs for components including the A20 Pro chip, LPDDR5X memory, and NAND storage are cited as reasons for the potential price rise. The costs of these A20 Pro chips, LPDDR5X memory, and NAND storage units have reportedly increased approximately three times compared to last year.
Projected Pricing and New Models
Jeff Pu predicts the iPhone 18 Pro could start at $1,399, and he also suggests a starting price between $1,349 and $1,399. For the Pro Max model, Jeff Pu predicts prices could be between $1,449 and $1,499, and he also predicts it could cost at least $1,499.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max could cost on average $200 more than its predecessor.
A first foldable iPhone model is expected to be introduced alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max with a market price of $2,000 to $2,500.
Historical Price Adjustments
Apple increased prices for Macs, iPads, and other products in June 2025 due to rising RAM and storage costs. During that period, the 11-inch iPad Pro saw a price increase from $999 to $1,099, while the 13-inch iPad Pro saw a $200 increase to $1,499.
A report from July 2026 suggested a price increase of up to 10% for the iPhone was possible, and reportedly noted that Apple had pushed display manufacturers for lower prices to offset higher costs of RAM and storage.
