The Lithuanian Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, was damaged during a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian capital.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko said the city was targeted with ballistic missiles. According to Ukrainian authorities, at least nine people were killed and more than 20 others were injured during the strikes. This attack marks the second large-scale Russian strike on Ukraine in the past two days.
No staff members of the Lithuanian Embassy were injured during the attack. Damage to the building included broken windows and damaged solar panels.
Diplomatic response and distances
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys reported that missiles landed near the embassy.
In response to the attack, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry will summon Russia's diplomatic representative in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Russia's campaign of terror against Ukraine continues without limits.
Budrys stated that there is no sign of a genuine willingness to seek peace or engage in negotiations. He called for strengthening Ukraine's defense capacity and increasing sanctions against Russia.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed solidarity with Lithuania.
