Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) lost 3-0 to Mallorca in their first preparation match. The match took place on a Wednesday in Palma, Balearic Islands, involving the Spanish second division club Mallorca.

Manager Luis Enrique utilized a young lineup due to the absence of many World Cup players. Among the younger players in the PSG lineup were 16-year-old Axel Koukaba and 17-year-old David Boly. Matvey Safonov and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were among the experienced players present for the match.

Several players did not travel for the match, including captain Marquinhos and Portuguese players João Neves, Vitinha, and Nuno Mendes. Spanish World Cup winner Fabián Ruiz, Moroccan Achraf Hakimi, and French players Barcola, Doué, Dembélé, Zaïre-Emery, and Hernandez are expected to return in the coming days.

Zito Luvumbo scored for Mallorca in the 21st minute to make it 1-0 against Matvey Safonov. Jan Virgili scored in the 40th minute to extend the lead to 2-0. In the 51st minute, Antonio Raillo scored a header from a corner to make the final score 3-0.

Upcoming fixtures

Paris Saint-Germain is scheduled to play a second preparation match against Manchester United in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Saturday.

The club will face Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup in Salzburg next Wednesday. Aston Villa is the winner of the UEFA Europa League.

PSG is also scheduled to face Lens in the Trophée des champions on August 16. The Ligue 1 season start for Paris Saint-Germain is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, at Parc des Princes against Stade Rennais.
