Michael Kim made history at the 3M Open by sinking a 24-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to shoot a 59, the 16th sub-60 round ever on the PGA Tour.
The 59 is the fourth sub-60 round on the PGA Tour since 2024. Jake Knapp was the last to achieve the feat, during the first round of the 2025 Cognizant Classic. Jim Furyk holds the tour record with a 58 at the 2016 Travelers Championship.
Reflecting on his mindset, Michael Kim said he told himself: "Hey, this is the way, this is the moment to get into the history books."
The historic round moved Michael Kim into a three-shot lead over Ben Kohles at the tournament.
