MSI, an NVIDIA add-in board partner, is increasing its graphics card prices by 20% or more due to a shortage of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM).
According to information shared by Board Channels, the price hikes from MSI will cover all models ranging from the RTX 50 series to the RTX 30 series.
The move follows pricing adjustments implemented in August by ASUS and Gigabyte. Both companies applied approximately 20% price increases across all their models compared to July.
Impact on specific models
The price increases vary by model. The MSI RTX 5080 is expected to see an increase of more than 2100 RMB or 300 USD, while the RTX 5070 Ti will see a rise of 1350 RMB, or approximately 200 USD.

Prices for the RTX 5050 are expected to rise by up to 80 USD.
Market trends and projections
A significant price increase occurred across all brands in China at the end of July. Industry sources state that these price increases in China are expected to eventually reach the US and European markets.
DRAM manufacturers have stated that the memory shortage will intensify in 2027 and 2028. Research analysts expect DRAM prices to rise by 50% in the third quarter of 2026, with an additional 40% increase in the fourth quarter.
