Perplexity confirmed a breach that affected its internal datasets and credentials.
Following the incident, it was reported that Perplexity was hacked and turned to a Chinese LLM for assistance after access to U.S. models was blocked.
Reports also indicate that HuggingFace was breached and a remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability was used to exploit an AI playground.
