Project Sirius, an upcoming multiplayer game set in The Witcher universe, has seen a new round of staff reductions. According to Kotaku, nine employees working on the project lost their jobs.
This follows previous workforce changes for the project. In 2023, Project Sirius lost 29 developers, including 21 in the United States and 8 in Poland.
Development history and staff changes
Project Sirius was revealed in 2022 alongside other Witcher and Cyberpunk projects. In March 2023, CD Projekt stated it had reassessed the project's original scope and commercial potential, leading to a new framework for development.
Internal staff reported working on Project Sirius as of late July 2025. This figure refers to internal development staff and may not represent the entire project workforce.
The project is being developed by The Molasses Flood, a studio acquired by CD Projekt in October 2021. In 2024, CD Projekt announced plans to fully integrate The Molasses Flood's team into CD Projekt Red Inc.
Despite the recent layoffs, CD Projekt indicated that Project Sirius is continuing. As of late 2025, internal development staff on the project had reportedly risen to approximately 56 people.
