Range Rover is expanding its lineup with a fifth model: an all-electric GT that will be the brand's first battery electric vehicle (BEV), with a hybrid variant to follow later in its lifecycle.

The GT is built on Jaguar Land Rover's new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform, which utilizes 800V electrical technology for ultra-fast charging. The EMA platform is JLR's third dedicated EV/PHEV platform and is expected to underpin other mid-size models, such as a potential Defender Sport and the Range Rover Evoque, according to speculative reports.

Prototypes are currently undergoing final on-road testing in a bespoke camouflage wrap inspired by the landscape around Gaydon, UK. The vehicle will be manufactured at JLR's Halewood plant in the UK, with production set to begin in the first half of 2027.

The interior features a minimalist design with a single floating infotainment screen and a thin strip of instrument gauges instead of a traditional cluster, following principles of "purity, precision, and quiet modernity," according to the brand.

Pricing estimates vary: In the US, the electric GT is expected to start near $90,000 with an EPA range of at least 300 miles, while in the UK it is expected to be positioned below the Velar and likely priced over £75,000 (around $100,000).
