The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran issued a statement claiming it attacked and 'destroyed' Amazon data centers in Bahrain using cruise missiles on July 21, according to Fars News Agency.

Michael Stephens, a senior associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies, said in an interview with Al Jazeera that the blockade could cause more trouble in terms of depleting oil reserves in economies already struggling because of the five- to six-month blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
