Tesla has revealed the first Cybercab featuring Starlink integration, as shared by the Tesla Robotaxi account on August 10, 2026.
The driverless taxi model, which lacks a traditional steering wheel or gas pedals, will utilize a low-profile Starlink antenna integrated into the roof. The antenna is located in a rectangular compartment in the rear section of the vehicle, designed so that a traditional dish shape is not visible from the outside.
The vehicle will use the new V5 Starlink antenna. Under appropriate conditions, this antenna can reach download speeds of over 375 Mbps.

Elon Musk stated that passengers will be able to watch 4K videos during their journey in the Cybercab. While Starlink will be integrated, Tesla's AI software manager Ashok Elluswamy stated that the vehicle can operate safely without the connection. The Cybercab's ability to move safely is not dependent on Starlink, as the onboard AI4 computer handles the driving, meaning it does not need an internet connection to drive.
Tesla intends to use the Starlink connection primarily for navigation, customer service, and fleet management. Musk suggested that providing high-speed connectivity to billions of vehicles is the objective for the system, noting he does not want to limit Starlink use to the Cybercab and suggesting all cars will have Starlink connectivity in the future.
Production and service scale
Unveiled in October 2024, production of the Cybercab started at Gigafactory Texas earlier this year. By July, over 100 Cybercab units were spotted in factory lots. The Cybercab is designed as a $30,000 two-seat robotaxi. Currently, Tesla's robotaxi service runs in dense urban markets including Austin, Houston, Dallas, and Miami.
Starlink market context
SpaceX plans to develop the next-generation Starlink Mobile service to compete with traditional mobile operators over time. During a recent earnings call, SpaceX signaled that the new generation of Starlink Mobile could compete with major operators such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.
While Starlink is used in many aircraft, caravans, ships, and trains, it is currently not available for use in Turkey due to a lack of legal permission.
