Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş, a 15-year-old Turkish chess grandmaster, is ranked number 1 in the world youth chess rankings.
Erdoğmuş has risen 61 places in the rankings within the last year and holds the title of the youngest grandmaster in the world.
The grandmaster surpassed World Champion Gukeş Domaraju and is currently ranked 27th in the overall world chess rankings.
Rankings and performance
Following victories at the Biel Chess Festival, Erdoğmuş reportedly reached 2,716 ELO points.
It is reported that Erdoğmuş reached the 2,700 ELO threshold in April, earning the title of the youngest player in world chess history to reach that level.
