Yannick Hanfmann has been eliminated from the ATP Masters tournament in Montreal, Canada. His exit on Thursday marks the departure of the last German professional player remaining in the tournament singles draw.
The 34-year-old Hanfmann, who is from Karlsruhe, Germany, was the only German representative left in the Montreal tournament following earlier matches.
Portuguese player Nuno Borges defeated Hanfmann in the third round with a score of 6-4, 6-2. The match concluded after 1 hour and 13 minutes of play.
Prior to Hanfmann's exit, top-seeded French Open winner Alexander Zverev of Germany had already lost his opening match at the Montreal Masters tournament.
