Industrial production in the euro area remained unchanged in June compared to the previous month, according to Eurostat.
On an annual basis, industrial output increased by 0.1% in June, reversing a 1.2% decline recorded in May after revisions.
Eurostat reported that industrial production in the euro area remained at the previous month's level in June after four consecutive increases.
Monthly increase in industrial production across the entire EU in June
Among euro area sectors, production of non-durable consumer goods rose by 3.0%, and energy output grew by 1.5%. Capital goods production fell by 1.4%, while intermediate goods declined by 0.8%. Durable consumer goods output increased by 0.3%.
Germany, the euro area’s largest industrial economy, recorded a 0.2% monthly increase in production.
Luxembourg recorded the largest monthly decline in industrial production among EU member states at -10.7%, followed by Portugal at -3.9% and Estonia at -2.2%.
Denmark posted the largest monthly increase in industrial production among EU countries at 5.4%, while Croatia recorded a 5.2% rise. Lithuania and Finland each saw gains of 2.1%.
Lithuania recorded the strongest annual industrial production growth at 7.7%. Luxembourg recorded the largest annual decline at -7.9%.
Eurostat revised the May industrial production data for the euro area from a 0.2% monthly decrease to a 0.3% increase, and for the EU from a 0.1% decline to a 0.3% rise.
Eurostat also revised the annual change for the euro area from a 1.2% drop in May to a 0.1% decrease, and for the EU from a 0.3% decline to a 0.6% increase.
In June, Denmark’s annual industrial production rose by 6.1%, Poland by 4.9%, while Romania declined by 5.6% and Estonia by 4.6%.
