Lorena Wiebes won the opening stage of the Tour de France Femmes in Lausanne, Switzerland. The 27-year-old Dutch rider secured the first yellow jersey of the race after the 138 km course that started and ended in Lausanne.
Wiebes was part of a group of eight riders who finished the stage. This victory marks the sixth time Wiebes has won an opening stage of the Tour de France Femmes in her career.
Mauritian rider Kim Le Court finished second, while European champion Demi Vollering took third place.

In the stage results, Pauline Ferrand-Prevot finished ahead of Katarzyna Niewiadoma, who finished seventh. Estonian rider Elisabeth Ebras finished 127th.

The next stage of the Tour de France Femmes will cover 147.9 km from Aigle to Geneva and will include three category three climbs.
