Air Baltic has suspended its flights from Tallinn to London Gatwick for the upcoming winter season, which runs from late October to late March. The airline plans to return the route during the next summer season.
The suspension is part of a broader review and adjustment of Air Baltic's winter schedule across its network, affecting selected routes from Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius. The airline stated that these changes affect only a small part of its network and are part of normal schedule optimization.
These adjustments include suspending a limited number of routes and adjusting flight frequencies to align capacity with expected winter travel patterns. Air Baltic informed Tallinn Airport that it will halt the Gatwick connection for the winter period.
Passengers affected by these changes can seek a refund or an alternative flight via the airline's website. Alternative flights are offered within 14 days on either side of the original booked date.
Eero Pärgmäe, a member of the Tallinn Airport board, noted that the aviation winter season in this region is typically 20 percent quieter than the summer season in terms of flight numbers.
During the winter, Air Baltic will operate flights from Tallinn to 12 destinations: Amsterdam, Brussels, Funchal (Madeira), Geneva, Malaga, Munich, Paris, Riga, Salzburg, Tenerife, Vienna and Vilnius.
