German bank Commerzbank has revised down its precious metals price forecasts, with gold, silver, platinum, and palladium all affected.
Commerzbank's new year-end 2026 gold price forecast, down from $4,800.
The bank lowered its year-end 2026 gold forecast from $4,800 to $4,500 per ounce, and its silver forecast from $80 to $67 per ounce for the same period. The 2027 silver forecast was also cut from $90 to $80 per ounce.
Platinum and palladium outlooks were also reduced: platinum to $2,000 per ounce (from $2,100) and palladium to $1,500 per ounce (from $1,600), both for year-end 2026.
Commerzbank attributed the downward revisions to rising oil prices affecting inflation expectations and to expectations of a more hawkish monetary policy stance by the US Federal Reserve.
