The European Commission has approved two Dutch schemes with a combined budget of €290 million to support sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).
The funding is authorized under EU State aid rules and is intended to bolster the supply and demand of these fuels. This measure aligns with the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation, which seeks to accelerate the transition toward climate-neutral aviation.
These schemes also contribute to the objectives of the Clean Industrial Deal, a framework designed to speed up the decarbonisation of industry across the European Union.
