Japan Airlines (JAL) reported a 80.2% decline in net profit for the first quarter of the 2026 fiscal year, covering the period from April to June. The airline's net profit reached 5.3 billion yen, or approximately 34 million dollars, during this timeframe.

While profits fell, the airline saw an 11.2% increase in sales revenue, which rose to 523.7 billion yen, or approximately 5.9 billion dollars.

Revenue from international flights increased by 14.4% to 211.6 billion yen (approximately 1.3 billion dollars), while domestic flight revenue rose by 3.6% to 139 billion yen (approximately 886.1 million dollars).


The decline in earnings was impacted by rising fuel prices linked to the conflict in the Middle East.
