Annual Figures
The annualized foreign trade balance recorded a deficit of 76.5 billion USD. The annualized services balance recorded a surplus of 63.7 billion USD, while the primary income balance recorded a 24.2 billion USD deficit and the secondary income balance recorded a 2 billion USD deficit.
Net inflows from the services balance were 6 billion 851 million USD in June 2026. Net income from transport services was 2 billion 597 million USD and from travel was 4 billion 857 million USD.
Financial Account
Direct investments recorded a net outflow of 899 million USD in June 2026. Non-residents' direct investments in Turkey increased by 210 million USD, while residents' direct investments abroad increased by 1 billion 109 million USD.
Residents purchased 248 million USD worth of real estate abroad, while non-residents purchased 297 million USD worth of real estate in Turkey in June 2026.
Portfolio investments recorded a net inflow of 2 billion 537 million USD in June 2026. Non-residents made net purchases of 2 billion 920 million USD in the stock and investment fund market and 1 billion 185 million USD in the Government Domestic Debt Securities (DİBS) market.
In foreign bond issuances, non-residents made net purchases of 462 million USD in bank issuances and 375 million USD in other sectors, while making net sales of 896 million USD in General Government issuances.
Banks, the General Government, and other sectors utilized 3 billion 495 million USD, 3 million USD, and 1 billion 800 million USD in net loans from abroad respectively.
Foreign banks' deposits in Turkey decreased by 2 billion 168 million USD in Turkish Lira and 1 billion 721 million USD in foreign currency, totaling a net decrease of 3 billion 889 million USD. Official reserves recorded a net increase of 1 billion 39 million USD in June 2026.
Financing
The annualized current account deficit was financed by 0.3 billion USD in net direct investments, 6.4 billion USD in net portfolio investments, and 52.9 billion USD in loans. Financial derivatives, trade credits, and net currency and deposits had a negative impact of 5.3 billion USD, 0.1 billion USD, and 21.8 billion USD respectively on the annualized current account deficit financing.
