A tiered natural gas tariff system in Turkey, which began in April, divides consumption into two distinct pricing groups: Kademe-1 and Kademe-2. Under this system, consumption limits are determined separately for each province.
The price for natural gas per cubic meter under the Kademe-1 tier, including taxes and the System Usage Fee (SKB), is 16.23 TL. For consumption reaching the Kademe-2 tier, the price per cubic meter rises to 26.13 TL.

Official announcements stated that approximately 12% of Turkey's 23 million residential natural gas subscribers would be affected by the tiered tariff application.
However, natural gas industry representatives told ANKA that 35% to 40% of the country's approximately 23 million residential subscribers could enter the Kademe-2 limit during the winter months.
Industry sources stated that natural gas bills are likely to increase significantly in November and especially December, which could lead to intense reactions from subscribers.
Impact on residential complexes and coastal cities
In residential complexes heated by central systems, exceeding consumption limits will cause subscribers to switch to the more expensive Kademe-2 tariff, causing bills to multiply. In these sites, the total bill is divided by the number of apartments to determine the amount per household.
The application may cause problems for those living in coastal cities due to the risk of exceeding consumption limits set for coastal provinces.
