The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) and the Central Bank of Syria signed a 'Turkish Lira Deposit Account Agreement', according to statements from TCMB. The agreement was signed by TCMB Governor Fatih Karahan and Central Bank of Syria Governor Mohammad Safwat Raslan.
The accord enables the Central Bank of Syria to open a Turkish lira deposit account at TCMB, as reported by state-run Anadolu Agency (AA).
A statement from TCMB noted: “The agreement was signed by our President Fatih Karahan and the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria Mohammad Safwat Raslan.” The central bank said the deal aims to strengthen financial cooperation between the two countries.
