In April, during a memorial event for the liberation of the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp, Die Prinzen singer Sebastian Krumbiegel warned that certain language used in parliaments and talk shows—not only by the far-right but sometimes by conservatives—contributes to the resurgence of reactionary and antisemitic developments.
Krumbiegel noted that the corridor between conservative and reactionary attitudes is often very narrow. He also called for opposing antisemitism from the left, the right, and from the religious-Muslim side.
The memorial event addressed the liberation of the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp, where US troops found hundreds of sick and dying prisoners left behind by the SS during the evacuation in April 1945.
