During the summer break, Honda officially confirmed the signings of Fabio Quartararo and Moto2 race winner David Alonso for the 2027 season. While Quartararo's move to the factory team had been reported before pre-season testing, the formal announcement of both riders was finalized following period of uncertainty regarding the team's full lineup.
The agreement for David Alonso was reached several months prior to the official confirmation. As part of this roster update, Honda also assigned crew chiefs for the 2027 campaign, including Santiago Hernandez to work with Alonso.
