Jorge Martin will switch crew chiefs as he prepares to join Yamaha’s factory MotoGP team next season. David Munoz, who currently serves as Alex Rins’ crew chief at Yamaha, will take on the role for Martin.

Munoz previously worked as crew chief for Valentino Rossi during the rider’s final two campaigns in 2020 and 2021. He has been with Yamaha in his current capacity since then.
Changes across the grid
Martin’s current crew chief at Aprilia, Daniele Romagnoli, will remain with the manufacturer. Reports indicate Romagnoli will work with Pecco Bagnaia in 2027.
Further shifts involve Bagnaia’s current crew chief, Christian Gabbarini, who is set to move to Ducati to work with Pedro Acosta. These adjustments reflect broader personnel changes among top teams ahead of the upcoming seasons.
Precedent for such restrictions exists within the sport. In 2024, Marc Marquez was not permitted to bring his long-time technician Santi Hernandez to Gresini Racing. Instead, Marquez was paired with Frankie Carchedi for that campaign.
