S&P Global, the New York-based financial information company, reported a stronger second-quarter profit on July 28 and announced an agreement to acquire datacenterHawk, a provider of data center intelligence, for an undisclosed amount.
S&P Global's revenue rose to $4.15 billion in the second quarter.
S&P Global's adjusted earnings increased 23% to $4.83 per share. The company also announced an agreement to take a majority stake in Agusto & Co., a Pan-African ratings agency.
The acquisitions follow the spin-off of S&P Global's Mobility business on July 1, which created an independent publicly listed company, Mobility Global. After the spin-off, S&P Global sharpened its focus on its core businesses: ratings, indices, market intelligence and energy.
S&P Global expects adjusted diluted earnings per share of $17.50 to $17.75 for 2026, with revenue growth of 5.9% to 7.9%.
Clients sought S&P Global's ratings, indices, market intelligence and analytics products amid heightened geopolitical uncertainty, the company noted. Its core operations rely heavily on proprietary datasets and advanced computational tools. S&P Global is grouped within the broader software and services sector.
